Brothers smallgroup after worship!

BBQ after worship! Many love Jesus and fear God, if not all of us! The harvest is here and God is raising up His army+family hallelujah!

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Yes, we love the lost and the least but we also are to love the family of God! As we sow in the Spirit every morning and day and night and sow with the Gospel, our time, talents, and treasure and thoughts, God will move in our midst and show us His glory! We are blessed to have a family of God where everyone seems all in to take up the cross, deny oneself, and sow and walk in the Spirit. We are NOT growing tired or weary as we are being set on fire from above. And remember, as we go forward and preach everywhere we go and pray to plant Gospel Communities across SoCal and the nations, do not fear criticism or fear man! You’ll never be criticized by people who do more than you for the kingdom, but always by someone doing less and have time to criticize! Fix our eyes on God alone and daily love and follow and surrender to Jesus and the will of God, to save 1 more for the Lord and plug them into healthy Gospel Communities!

Galatians 2:15-21

15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

17 “But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

Again what is the Gospel? Catholics emphasize the crucified Christ and suffering, while Orthodox emphasize the resurrection of Christ and joy. Paul emphasized righteousness in the sight of God by faith in Jesus alone, which is community based and also personal, and rebuked those who emphasized salvation by works.

Works is not, however, obedience. It says in verse 17 that we are not ministers of sin, and those who are saved by grace are also dead in Christ, for we have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me! So faith produces restoration with God and we are no longer just sinners, but justified in God’s eyes!

The lesson today is this: we are saved by grace, through faith, and no longer need to live in sin, but that is not the emphasis. We are ministers of one-ness with Jesus! The point is that Christ lives in me here and now, and we live here and now in the flesh, here on earth, because He loves and gave Himself up for us! That is the Gospel. WE are NOT ministers of sin, meaning liberal grace or liberal views, but uphold the law because the law is still spiritual and holy… it points to the need for Christ. Then the Gospel (comes after the law, OT then the NT, old covenant then the new covenant, which states that Christ lives in me. We are one with Jesus now. IF you believe this, we cannot help but go out and share with the whole world.. As wealth and man and our glories of earth fade away, eternal glory by being closer and closer with Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord lasts forever hallelujah!

Time to Build the Church (People) and Not just Our own Homes!

9/17/2021 Friday (day 449 of our prayer chain) – Time to Build the Church (People) and Not just Our own Homes!

Bible in a Year: Proverbs 27–29 / 2 Corinthians 10

Haggai 1: 2 “Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built.” ’ ” 3 Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?” 5 Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways!

6 “You have sown much, and bring in little;

You eat, but do not have enough;

You drink, but you are not filled with drink;

You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm;

And he who earns wages,

Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”

7 Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways! 8 Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the Lord. 9 “You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the Lord of hosts. “Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house. 10 Therefore the heavens above you withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit. 11 For I called for a drought on the land and the mountains, on the grain and the new wine and the oil, on whatever the ground brings forth, on men and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.”

The People’s Obedience

12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the Lord. 13 Then Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, spoke the Lord’s message to the people, saying, “I am with you, says the Lord.” 14 So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God, 15 on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of King Darius.

Many people confess to follow Jesus, love God, but with our or their actions, we discredit our testimony. What does it mean to build the Lord’s temple? Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins? (v.4) But that is how OC living is… we build our own homes, finances, and families, but not God’s. Haggai was speaking of the physical temple in Jerusalem, but we also know that in the NT we are the temple for God’s Spirit, and that we are to make disciples! The connection here is simple! Those who love God build up and spend time with His people, and their time, talents, treasures, and thoughts to save the lost and bring people into the Kingdom!

As we learned, obedient and Spirit-filled Christians save souls, make disciples (built His temple or house or Church) and plant Churches (gospel communities) where they can grow and hangout and find family. Many had encounters with God but end up building their own homes and not God’s… why? Because they have never been mentored to the point of being obedient to the Word of God.. it is mere talk and not the walk… and faith without works, or walk, is worthless says James….

From Ben Um – Power to SAVE – Mark 5:19
Will you tell everyone how much the Lord has done for you and how he’s had MERCY on you? Nothing is impossible or too hard for God. When Jesus was at the Sea of Galilee and with his disciples, a demon possessed man immediately approached him. Jesus spoke to the demons inside him, drove them away, and set him FREE. When Jesus left, the man begged to go along with him, but Jesus didn’t allow it because he had work for him to do. He told the man to “GO HOME to your OWN PEOPLE and TELL THEM how much the Lord HAS DONE FOR YOU (Mark 5:19).

We never see the man again, but something very important happened. The people of the region to Jesus to LEAVE, but the next time her returned there, a LARGE CROWD GATHERED. Here’s something to think about…could the crowd have resulted from Jesus sending the man home? Could that man who was controlled by darkness been one of the first MISSIONARIES telling all about Jesus’ POWER TO SAVE.

When we’re SET FREE, we can SERVE HIM. He can turn any MESS into a message of HOPE & LOVE. OUR LORD CAN SAVE US FROM ANY SITUATION. ANY SIN. ANY ADDICTION. ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. ANY ILLNESS. NO DARKNESS CAN STAND AGAINST YOU, LORD! As believers and followers of Christ, will we share how the Lord SAVED us from bondage to sin and death. Thank you in JESUS MIGHTY NAME FOR SETTING ME FREE!
